Born in Eskişehir in 1982, he began dreaming of “creating something with computers” while still in middle school. This early curiosity led him to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering in 2005. Yet his real journey was shaped not by graduation alone, but by curiosity and courage. When he realized that technical knowledge by itself was not enough, he chose to build a bridge between engineering and the business world by completing a master’s degree in Management Information Systems in 2010.

He started his career in the core of software development, then began chasing a deeper question: Why are good ideas not always communicated effectively? Why don’t technical teams and the business world speak the same language? These questions led him into diverse roles across business analysis, product management, and sales. Through his experience at major organizations such as Türk Telekom and KoçSistem, he discovered that it is not enough for an idea to be technically sound—it must also be clearly communicated, correctly positioned, and aligned with real needs.

Over the years, one insight became clear: true value lies not in specializing in a single field, but in bringing different disciplines together. With this perspective, he founded Disti Bilişim in 2023, aiming to introduce niche technology solutions from around the world to Turkey. Today, he continues his journey guided by the same question: “Whose life does this solution make easier, and how?”

Ömer ÖZAŞIK reminds young people that a career is not a straight line—that experimenting, changing direction, and taking risks are natural parts of success. In his view, the most important competencies are curiosity, a lifelong commitment to learning, and the courage to build one’s own path.
